Located just minutes from each other and offering 2 different experiences, deciding whether to spend your time swooshing down the slopes in Park City or Deer Valley is no easy task. We’re breaking down the differences between the 2 to make choosing a destination for your luxury vacation easier. But if there’s one thing we’ve learned, when it comes to Park City and Deer Valley, you can’t really go wrong.

Deer Valley:

Known for its immaculately groomed runs, Deer Valley fosters a satisfying experience with attention to detail, both on the slopes and off. Its employees are famously courteous and service-oriented. Another way Deer Valley elevates your experience is through capping lift ticket sales so no lift lines ever run too long, nor will you face massive crowds on the mountains. With 10% more beginner runs than Park City, Deer Valley might have an edge if you’re brushing up your skills or setting out for the first time.  We should also point out that Deer Valley is strictly for skiers; snowboarders are not permitted. Deer Valley is known for it’s luxurious vacation homes that are sure to impress your most discerning guests.

Park City:

The larger of the 2 with more runs and total skiable area overall, Park City offers a more traditional mountain experience. Snowboarders are welcome here and the 4 terrain parks are a testament to that. The sight of many 2002 Winter Olympics events, you can be sure to find your fair share of adrenaline inducing trails. Another fun aspect of this mountain is the Town Lift that delivers you directly to historic Main Street where the chance for an amazing aprés is almost guaranteed.

Have you decided? Will it be Deer Valley with its refined sense of service and exclusivity? Or Park City with expert runs, Olympic roots, and beeline to the aprés scene? If it were up to us we’d choose…. both! Splitting time between each resort is the Time & Place way to experience all that this destination has to offer!
